116. poor mother and baby (40 x 50 cm)

This is a oil painting.  I was waiting in the industrial area for my son.  The industrial area is next to the informal settlement. Luckily I had my camera with me.  I saw this mother and child going back to their shack.  They were  seeing the other children off to school and make their way back home. The people are content.  They do not have much but they have each other.  Out of more than 700 entries from 25 different countries, I won an international  certificate of Special Recognition.
